Y do it? because change matters.

This week TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey said she was worried about the direction of her country and that she felt nervous and "out of my pew" as she addressed a crowd in Des Moines, Iowa. The center piece of her address was her belief that she should stand up and speak out for the man who she believes "has a new vision for America".

Fred Thompson announced yesterday a "voluntary Flat Tax" proposal whereby Taxpayers could choose to pay a flat income tax of 10% for joint taxpayers upto $100,000 (or $50,000 for individuals) and 25% above that amount without any deductions or credits (including mortgage interest ) or pay based on the current system. It would seem to me that an alternative plan can only mean lost revenue as Taxpayers would choose whatever is best for them. I don't get it Mr Thompson.
